By using our unlocking service you'll be able to use any network providers SIM card in your phone. Typically this involves unlock codes which are a series of numbers which can be entered into your mobile phone via the phones key pad to remove the network restriction and allow the use of other SIM cards. Other unlocking companies may require you to use special software.
Unlocking a mobile phone so that it will accept alternative network SIM cards is legal. All mobile phones are manufactured to accept any SIM card. In the UK is a consumer's legal right to have their phone unlocked! Feel free to contact us about any other localities.
See the following notes for further information:
The networks have to provide you with an unlock code if you request it, but they can charge substantial fees
The unlock codes we supply for most handsets will be entered with any SIM card inserted. However, certain LG handsets do require the original SIM card to be inserted in order for the unlock codes to work.
None at all, as we provide full and easy instructions for unlocking your phone. If there is a problem unlocking your phone using the codes we provide then we will endeavor to solve the problem.
Once you receive the codes, follow our detailed instructions provided in that same email and enter the codes into your phone by using the phone keypad. It is simple and straight forward and will immediately unlock your phone.
If your phone works with a SIM card from one network, but not a SIM card from a different network (and that other network does support that type of phone) then you know it is network locked. However, if your phone doesn't work on any network at all, you may need to get it repaired.
Removing the network restriction on your mobile phone with unlock codes is the safest form of unlocking available. You simply enter the necessary codes directly into your phone via the keypad to remove the network restriction.
This varies depending on the solution. Typically you need to provide the model, the 15 digit IMEI number of the phone and the country / network it is locked to. Usually this is enough but this does vary for each handset and solution. Either which way we provide you with full easy to follow instructions to unlock your phone.
You provide us with easy to find details of your phone 1.e. the IMEI number, country and the network that supplied the phone. This information is then used to generate the unlock for your phone. We generate unlock codes ourselves and at times take the help of the large reliable vendors we have contacts with. We provide you with the unlock code, instructions, video instructions on how to use the code to unlock your phone easily and quickly.
The IMEI number is the International Mobile Equipment Identifier, this is a 15 digit number that uniquely identifies your phone (sometimes it's 17 digits, but we only need to know the first 15).. You simply enter *#06# (star hash zero six hash) into your phones key pad and it will be displayed on the screen. You can also find your phones IMEI number on a label on the back of your phone, underneath the battery, but occasionally the printed one is incorrect, so we'd advise you to use the first method.
With your phone unlocked you can swap SIM cards at different times to get the best value of the different tariffs from the providers, you can choose which network and which tariff you want at various times. Mobile phones which are unlocked tend to have a greater second hand value, the value of your handset could be increased. Many people will unlock their mobiles so they can use a local prepaid SIM card when in a different country instead of using the costly 'roaming' feature provided by their current network provider.
